[Asbury Park, NJ I May 6, 2024] New Jersey’s indie-poptimistic trio -THE BREAK PLANS - have announced monthly releases of new music throughout 2024, culminating with their debut EP release "MISTAKES ARE A FRIEND OF MINE” come Fall. Their lead-off single “BETTER OFF” will officially stream on May 10th. The uplifting tune is about taking the initial blow of a gut-wrenching breakup by adopting the rallying cry from your friends that you really are now in a better place. 

“Heartbreak is really hard and can be incredibly lonely,” shares vocalist Colton Braun. “I wanted to talk about those experiences so many of us have had. What I’ve learned is that there’s a great deal of freedom that comes from finally letting go. Writing these songs with my band was the most cathartic thing I’ve ever done. I hope our listeners can relate and find comfort in it.” 

The upcoming EP is comprised of six songs including a powerful ballad with country singer Jessica Rose, a cover by The Fray, and transformative singles that highlight the group’s songwriting skills and knack for crafting catchy choruses.

This collection of soul-stirring songs delves deep into the raw and often tumultuous journey of overcoming heartbreak, emerging stronger and more resilient on the other side. 

With tracks that range from introspective ballads to pop-rock bangers, "Mistakes Are a Friend of Mine" offers listeners a cathartic experience, allowing them to navigate through the complex emotions of love and loss alongside the band.
